NASCAR racing legend - Marvin Panch


Marvin Panch started his career in racing as a car owner in California. In 1949, when his driver for a race point, Marvin hopped in the car and drove it a third place finish. He decided he could do, driving his own and received his first major victory in the same year at Balboa Stadium, an unsealed in San Diego. He continued his race in California for the next six years. During this time, he won many races and a Championship.

In 1953, Marvin decided to the East Coast try racing scene and traveled to Darlington. He finished 28 and his driving skills attracted the attention of Lee petty. He received an invitation the following again petty car to drive year. This time he finished third. In 1956, Marvin Panch won his first Grand National in Montgomery, Alabama, where he won the pole position and dominated the entire 100-miles event. Marvin had been driving for the factory Ford team but in 1957, Ford moved the racing and Marvin career took a nosedive.

He took only 24 in the next three years. In 1961, he became a ride in a Pontiac, which result in Daytona 500, which he his career again set in motion won, offered. He was soon hired by the Woods brothers to drive their Ford. "We've had much success together," said Panch.

"We made some races won and ever until well done, if we didn't win." "It was like with money in the Bank."

1966 Due to a rules dispute, Ford Motor Company again moved the NASCAR, Panch left without a ride--but not long. He was in another small car and won the 1966 Charlotte 600, his 17 and last victory. He retired this October.

Marvin Panch was as one of NASCAR's 1988 50 greatest drivers and was inducted into the national Motorsports Press Association Hall of Fame in 1987. In the course of his career in racing, he rode for some of the top Auto generators such as Smokey Yunick, the forest brothers, Ray Fox Holman-Moody and petty enterprises. "I feel that I narrow driven, when it comes to drive the market for some of the best car builder in the business." "I advise all them very high", said Panch.
