NASCAR legend - Geoff Bodine


Geoffrey Eli Bodine is known for his success in NASCAR. During his career dedicated he starting in many forms, with micro-dwarf in the age of 5 and its way to the Cup race work 51 years. He was famous for eating in the more modified races than any other driver, and is named in the Guinness Book of world records with "The most WINS in a season".

Geoff is the oldest of three brothers, all born. He was born into a family with a passion for racing. His father and his grandfather built CHEMUNG Speedrome in New York shortly after Geoff was born and it didn't take long for him, his ability to develop race.

Over the age of 30 he made his first start in the Sprint Cup series then. His first full season was in 1982 when he was named Rookie of the year. During the mid-1980s Geoff who hunger for victory began to rise, and he was an aggressive and skilled drivers dominate events many NASCAR. He caught on a burning rivalry with Dale Earnhardt and develop there was tension on and off the track. It is said that once as Earnhardt caught Dale Jr. plays his son with # 5 Geoff Bodine toy car, he took it from the young and destroyed.

This rivalry led to a conference with NASCAR officials. Geoff drove for some of the most famous car owners in NASCAR such as junior Johnson, Bud Moore, and Rick Hendrick, as well as his own vehicles. Daytona International Speedway was a very eventful track for Geoff. He obtained his greatest victory it 1986 Daytona 500. It is also one of the most terrible and frightening wrecks in NASCAR history. Geoff in the camping world series was driving his truck along with 13 others involved was a vicious crash. Geoff of the truck was thrown into the barrier fence and exploding in a massive fireball. Nine fans were injured and Geoff suffered multiple fractures. He missed over half of the season 2000. However, two years later he once again moved to Daytona for the Daytona 500 and pride third.

Not only Geoff was a success on the road, but he was also the innovation behind several racing products. He helped Cup racing power steering and full face helmets to introduce. He designed a special sprung seat, now used in several series and a line of reinforcement details products.

A more competitive Bob for the US Olympic team was next to car of racing products construction Geoff. With his technical background and the technology and experience, which he out of racing won, he created the Bo-dyn bobsleds, which the US team more competitive made. Today, Geoff Bodine is very involved in his community as a volunteer firefighter and member of the Board of the make-A-wish Foundation, and he is still involved in the BoDyn program and the Olympic Bobsled team.
